Audio/Sound Extractor for HP 618 and HP M407 camera jpg files.
These cameras can record sound and embedd it in the jpg file. This program allows the audio section of the HP 618 and HP M407 EXIF jpg files to be extracted to a .wav file.
The .wav file name will be the source filename + .wav eg the wav file for pic.jpg will be pic.jpg.wav
This program is only tested with the HP 618 and HP M407 camera files, it may or most likely wont be able to extract audio from other camera manufacturers files.
Rather than write a complete app I've used Samuel Gonzalo's CFileFinder sample program from 'The Code Project' as a base and then added the audio extract to it. Which is why the program has the Search function.
To play the wav files on a PC you need to have the Microsoft IMA ADPCM audio compression CODEC installed. This is a standard CODEC that comes with Windows and it is normally installed by default.
This programs uses a couple of DLLs (mfc42.dll and msvcrt.dll) they are not supplied with this program (it has no installer) but 99% of people probably already have them installed. If you don't have these you can search on the web for them.
This program is supplied with the usual disclaimers, no warranty, your risk etc.

April 26, 2003 fixed search bug where only files with Archive attribute were found

November 17, 2005 changed the EXIF search method so that the program also works with the HP Photosmart M407.
