GPSSC Speed Camera program for MS Windows.

GPSSC is a speed camera warning program that will run on a Microsoft Windows laptop with a GPS unit attached.  The GPS must be able to send NMEA codes to the laptop comms port, most do but a few might not. The program gives spoken warnings as you approach each speed camera. It also has several other views, one that displays POI (points of interest) ,another that displays points of a route, three compass views, a Trekbuddy map viewer and an NMEA track editor view that can also be used as a Wiki Openstreetmap OSM or GPX map viewer.

The 64 bit version of GPSSC (GPSSC-x64.exe)will run on Microsoft Windows all 64 bit versions from XP to Windows 10. It will not run on 32 bit versions.
You will need to have the 64bit C++ Visual Studio 2008 runtime dlls installed. vcredist_x64.exe File Size:4.3 MB.   They can be installed from the Microsoft web site at Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package MFC Security Update

On Microsoft Windows XP you will also need to have SAPI 5.1 installed. Normally this will already be installed but if it is missing then you'll probably have to download the development kit for it and install that.
It's a fairly big download.

I've seen a couple of blogs recently that say Windows 8 64bit assigns memory to apps by default from a memory area above 4GB. I can't test this because I do not have a PC with more than 4 GB of memory. If you have a 64bit system with more than 4GB of memory and you get problems you could try configuring the GPSSC app to run in a Windows 7 compatible mode. The other option is to just run the 32bit version of GPSSC.
