FlightMirage an early beta release of a new Dump1090 plane monitor app but in a MS Windows 10 Win32 app.

This beta release is so early the app does not have it's proper name yet, for now it is called PMTest2.exe.

This web page was created when it was possible to get json data files for free from www.adsbexchange.com. That web site is now password protected
so instead get your self a Importeddata.csv starter file from https://flimirx.wixsite.com/filecab/db
https://opensky-network.org/datasets/metadata/ is free and might be useful if you want to create your own Importeddata.csv file.
The rest of this web page is for info only or users with a adsbexchange login.

Import aircraft descriptions.

A program feature under development is to be able to display the aircraft model on the aircraft label. This is going to be done by using a look up file containing the ICAO codes, the aircraft model, the owning company and the date the aircraft was registered.  This feature is now written and functional.   You can create this file by using the DB menu and Import from json files.  The json files come from the www.adsbexchange.com website here https://www.adsbexchange.com/data/# For example, June 20th’s data can be downloaded at the following URL: http://history.adsbexchange.com/Aircraftlist.json/2016-06-20.zip.  Extract the json files to a folder using a utility like 7zip or Windows Extract All.  Use FlightMirage's dialog to extract the model data to the file Importeddata.csv in the folder where you have PMTest2.exe. There is no progress indicator but you will get a confirmation window when it is done. The time it takes depends on how many json files you have. 10 minutes is typical.  Try it with a few files first to see how it works.

You will have this sort of data in the Importeddata.csv file.
